The 23-bed critical access hospital runs the valley's 24-hour emergency department and ambulance service, and as a Level IV Trauma Center it stabilizes serious cases and sends them on to the right level of care.
The nurses and the ER are what people talk about, often alongside compassionate care and quick X-rays. Wait times come up too, as they do at any small hospital serving a town and its visitors.
