One used 1973 backhoe, bought from a family friend, was the entire fleet when Roberts Excavation started out in Berthoud. The company now runs more than 40 machines plus support equipment and does dirt and wet utilities work across Northern Colorado.

This is heavy civil work. Excavation and grading, lot clearing, debris removal, concrete breaking and hauling, aggregate hauling with end dumps and substation site development are all on the list, for commercial, residential, public works, multi-family and industrial clients. Custom home sites are part of the mix. Fine grading is listed as well, along with jobs that pair excavation and construction under one contract.

Estes Park is on its service map, but the company works out of Berthoud, so the equipment comes up the canyon to reach a job. That makes it a call for a builder clearing a custom home lot or a commercial site, not for someone who needs a single stump pulled.
