Timber trusses for a museum addition in Laramie, barns, and big-beamed homes across Colorado and well beyond have come out of the Three Elements Timberworks shop in Longmont. It designs, engineers and fabricates heavy timber frames, trusses and structural wood systems, then ships them pre-cut and pre-assembled, ready to raise on site.
This is a trade shop. Its clients are general contractors and architects, and it does its best work when brought in during design, when the 3D parametric CAD models and structural engineering coordination can shape the frame before anything is cut. Timbers are cut by CNC, and fabrication runs on a predictable 120-day lead time.
Estes Park is on its list of project locations, but the shop is based down on the Front Range and comes up for jobs. A homeowner dreaming of a timber-frame cabin would usually start with a builder or architect and bring this shop in through them.
