About

Estes Park is a childcare desert, by EVICS's own description, and getting affordable, safe care is the hurdle this family resource center was built around. It began as a childcare scholarship program and grew into a center that connects parents to help across the valley and Larimer County. An executive director and program manager lead a small team, and the board draws on the school district and local businesses.

Tuition assistance is still the core. Around it sit family advocates, a youth advocate and a childcare resource specialist, along with mental health consultations, English as a Second Language classes, early childhood education work and a childcare resource directory. Childcare providers get training and support too.

The office is on Graves Avenue, about a mile from downtown near the fairgrounds, and works in English and Spanish. The staff is what people mention. It keeps weekday office hours, so plan calls and visits around the work week.
