About
The house pour is named 217, after the Stanley's Stephen King suite, which tells you where you are. The bar fills the hotel's old Music Room just off the main lobby, and the room still holds historic instruments, Flora Stanley's piano among them. There's live music, a couple of couches, and a patio facing the mountains.
The wine list is the main reason to come, and the charcuterie board (the Charc Attack, or the smaller Charc Bite) is the order that comes up most. Prosecco, cocktails and a full bar cover anyone not drinking wine. The rest of the menu is short: shrimp cocktail, hummus, spinach artichoke dip, then tiramisu or a Stranahan's Old Fashioned cheesecake.
It opens in the afternoon and runs into the evening, and service is quick enough for one glass before dinner somewhere else. Prices sit lower than the setting suggests. An easy way to spend an hour inside the Stanley without booking a room.
