About
A German baker named Dieter D'Alquen started making donuts in an old gas station on Moraine Avenue about thirty years ago, and people have been lining up since. Everything is still made from scratch, thousands of donuts a day, and a second shop now runs in Loveland.
The raspberry twist and the apple fritter are the ones to know, along with buttermilk cake and yeast-raised donuts, filled donuts, and cheesecake and cinnamon rolls. There's bread too: sunflower, dark German rye and European white. It's a morning place, mostly takeout, with picnic tables out front, and Fresh Burger Stop is right next door if someone wants something savory. The maple donut has its fans too.
