About
Tregent Park is a small stop on the Riverwalk at the west end of Elkhorn Avenue. It has a bronze cowboy, picnic tables, and restrooms. It is a good place for a snack break and a sit-down when downtown gets loud.
Tregent Park is on the Riverwalk at the west end of Elkhorn Avenue, in the middle of downtown. The town lists picnic tables, a drinking fountain, benches, restrooms, trees, flowers, a bronze cowboy sculpture, and adjacent parking. It's small. You'll spend ten minutes or an hour, depending on whether you've got an ice cream.
It's a good reset when the sidewalks are packed. Grab food somewhere on Elkhorn, bring it here, and sit by the river. Kids can dip their feet in the water along the Riverwalk, but be careful with the current in spring, when the river runs cold and fast.
I'd come in the morning for the quiet or in the early evening. Mid-afternoon in summer, every bench has somebody on it. Treat the flower beds with care, and pack out your trash. The Riverwalk also leads you to Children's Park and the Hix Plaza, so you can keep walking.
