Come fall, the menu at Move Freely Massage and Bodywork picks up pumpkin pie hot stones and a cinnamon and clove warming massage. The rest of the year it is a straightforward licensed studio on Graves Avenue: therapeutic, deep tissue, Swedish and prenatal massage in 60, 75 and 90 minute sessions.
The pairing that sets it apart is massage plus a 30-minute movement session, for people who want to leave moving better and not just feeling looser. Assisted stretching, cupping and an infrared sauna blanket are also on offer, and mobile massage can come to a rental.
Knots and sore shoulders are what most people arrive with, and getting them worked out is what they remember, along with the soothing music and a calm room. It is next to the EVICS Family Resource Center, near the fairgrounds, every visit is by appointment, and LGBTQ and trans clients are explicitly welcome.
