About
The store dates to 1914 and has shipped mail orders worldwide since 1949. Rocky Mountain Connection sits on East Elkhorn next to the Elkins Distilling tasting room, and the racks run to Levi's, Columbia, Dickies, Dockers, Minnetonka and Whistle Creek.
Shoes are a strong section, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The more useful thing for a visitor is the rental shelf: hiking equipment and snowshoes rent here, so a single winter outing does not mean buying a pair. Trail tags, stickers and a Trail Passport add a collector's angle for hikers, and the online shop handles orders from home. For Bare Feet is a few doors down, handy for finishing a loop of Elkhorn.
