At East Elkhorn and Park Lane, next to Hayley's Ice Cream, Trendz at the Park sells the kind of gift that isn't a magnet. The look is modern with a mountain accent: home décor, decorative accessories, jewelry, Pendleton, Creative Co-op and Cyan, plus pieces from American-made, female-owned vendors.
Colorado makers get real shelf space, including Drops of Colorado, Down to Earth Pottery, James Frank Photography and Counter Couture, and the stock turns over often enough that a second visit looks different. There are gifts for dogs, cats and grandparents, and the dog treats come up more than anyone would expect. Seasonal displays change for most major holidays. A good place to find something for whoever stayed home with the dog.
The staff are friendly and the room is laid out well for browsing, which matters on a crowded summer afternoon downtown. Anything too big for a suitcase can be shipped home, and other makers can ask about selling there.
