In the off-season this rock shop on East Elkhorn, next to Blue Spoon, can close midweek when the weather turns, so call or text before a winter visit and allow for a slow reply. The rest of the year it's an easy downtown stop.

Inside are Colorado jewelry and gemstones, crystal specimens, fossils and raw stones, plus pieces from around the world. Rings and pendants are the jewelry that comes up most, and the owner's knowledge is what people walk out talking about. Fossils and crystal specimens cover the rock-hound side, and there are gifts and souvenirs for the less committed. Ask where a stone came from, and expect a real answer.
