About
Gaelic for space and opportunity, fänas is the name a deliberately small Boulder firm chose for itself. Partners Dale and Elizabeth Smith spent more than 30 years at other firms before starting their own, and they cap how many projects they take so they can stay responsive. Custom homes, lofts and cabins are the core, with select boutique commercial work meant to feel residential.
Services cover architectural and interior design, site master planning, code analysis and permit coordination, zoning help, 3D renderings and construction administration, plus additions and remodels. Fänas Architecture is based in Boulder and comes up for mountain work; its portfolio includes the Tahosa Ridge Residence in Estes Park. Consultations are by appointment.
