Near the corner of Steamer Drive and Big Thompson Avenue, by the Jimmy John's, UCHealth Urgent Care handles what's too urgent to wait for a regular appointment but doesn't need the emergency room. Walk-ins are fine. X-rays are done on site, and video visits are an option if leaving the lodge isn't. The treatment list reads like an Estes Park summer: altitude sickness, dehydration, minor broken bones, cuts, burns, rashes and ear infections.

Friendly staff is what most people remember, with compassionate, thorough care right behind. The clinic is clean, and it's open on weekends, which matters when the twisted ankle happens on a weekend hike. Most insurance is accepted, including Tricare, Medicaid and Medicare.
