Three businesses run out of one office at Ponderosa Realty & Management on North Lake Avenue: vacation rentals, long-term rentals and real estate sales. The office is about a mile and a half from downtown and half a mile from Lake Estes Marina, next to McLain Construction. Its own tagline sums up the setup: rent a dream, buy a dream.

The vacation side is what most people know. Homes, condos and cabins rent year round, for a single night or a month and longer, and the houses themselves get the praise: clean, good-looking and well equipped. A few come with a view. The long-term side runs from studios to four-bedroom houses at rents tenants call fair.

For owners, the company handles management either way, short-term or long-term, including maintenance and repairs. The brokerage sells homes, luxury property and mobile homes, handles valuations and estate sales, and leases commercial space, with virtual tours on its listings. Agents are friendly and answer quickly.
