On a cold morning the fireplace is the reason to pick Raven's Roast over the other downtown counters. It faces the Riverwalk in George Hix Riverside Plaza, between Nepal's Cafe and Rocky Mountain Crepe Company, and it's small, quiet and easy to settle into with a laptop. The tea list is long, the spicy chai and mocha get ordered a lot, and the friendly people behind the counter are what most visitors leave talking about.
Pastries and donuts cover breakfast, and there are smoothies for kids who don't want cocoa. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, and some days there's live music. It opens early enough for a coffee before heading into the Park.
