La Colina at Trailhead Lodge

Carne asada tacos are the order here, with chicken tinga and fish tacos close behind and a house margarita alongside. La Colina, which used to be Casa Colina, is the restaurant at Trailhead Lodge on Stanley Avenue, a block or so from the Visitor Center, and it is open to anyone, not only lodge guests.

The patio is where people want to be, dogs welcome, and there is a fireplace inside for colder nights. Live music turns up some evenings, and so does the occasional pig roast. The bar leans on tequila and mezcal. The room itself is casual and fairly quiet, and solo diners fit in fine.

Breakfast is its own menu, with breakfast tacos, burritos with bacon, chorizo or vegetables, and horchata overnight oats. Prices are low for Estes, service is quick, and churros finish the meal. Sheet tray nachos and crispy potatoes make the easy table share.
