About
Right beside the Historic Park Theatre on Moraine Avenue, a few steps off Elkhorn, River Walk Café has tables by the river and a menu that leans on paninis. It opens early and stays a daytime place.
The caprese panini is the one people order most, and the bagel sandwiches, avocado toast and quinoa salad hold their own. Boar's Head meats go into the sandwiches, and pastries come from Spruce Confections, raspberry scone included. The coffee is locally roasted, the drink board runs to cortados, honey oat milk lattes and lavender matcha, and boba tea has its own following. Fruit teas come in mango, strawberry and peach jasmine, with London Fog and cold brew besides.
Breakfast and lunch run all day. Dogs are welcome on the patio, there's a kids' menu, and it works fine for a laptop morning. It takes reservations and handles catering and parties. The house-made burritos are the other breakfast move.
