Jagerschnitzel and sauerbraten aren't what most people expect on West Elkhorn, which is part of why the Wild Rose stands out. The French onion soup is the order mentioned most, then trout and the trout dip, elk burgers and elk medallions. The menu mixes American and European cooking for lunch and dinner, in a casual room with a full bar and a happy hour. It's next to Steamers Cafe and The Stanley Creamery, near Bond Park, and dogs are allowed on the patio. Reservations are taken, and catering is offered.
