Out on North St. Vrain, nearly three miles from downtown, the Estes Park sign is the town's welcome photo stop. The chipmunks are the real show. They know exactly why cars pull over, and kids end up spending longer with them than with the camera. Ground squirrels, wild turkeys and blue jays turn up too. Plenty of people feed them, but human food isn't good for wildlife, so bring the camera and leave the snacks in the car. Quick, free of fuss and easy with kids.
