The star tour is the one that comes up again and again. Chelsea Stills, who also goes by The Hiking Mermaid, takes people out after dark to look at the sky, with or without hands-on camera instruction, and since she is a professional photographer the night ends with pictures worth keeping.

Sunrise tours are the other favorite, and a lake shows up in a lot of those shots. Chelsea and fellow guide Rick Martinez also run midday and sunset hikes, full moon hikes, driving tours and photo tours, each one shaped around the group, whether that is two people or a whole crew. A few couples have used the outing for wedding pictures. Some photos come with the tour and others can be bought separately.

Tours run just outside Estes Park through all four seasons. Chelsea's name is the one people leave saying, along with how much fun she is as a teacher. Book with sunrise in mind and plan for an early alarm.
