The via ferrata is what most people book KMAC for. It's a private route the company runs, and the Cloud Ladder is the part they talk about afterward. KMAC is an AMGA-accredited guide service working out of Big Thompson Avenue, a mile or so east of downtown toward Lake Estes, and its guides have been leading climbs here for decades.
Rock climbing runs from first sessions to multi-pitch and alpine routes, alongside Longs Peak hikes, backpacking and cliff camping. The guides get credit for patience and encouragement more than anything, which counts on a route that turns out harder than it looked from the ground.
Winter doesn't shut things down. Backcountry skiing and splitboarding, avalanche courses, ice climbing and snowshoeing fill the cold months, and summer brings youth and girls' climbing camps. Bird-watching tours are on the list too, large groups can be handled, and AMGA instructor courses and exams run here as well.
