Big Red of the Rockies sells exactly one team. Nebraska Huskers apparel fills the store on Moraine Avenue, a couple of doors from the Estes Park 5 & 10, with sports cards and memorabilia alongside. It's right near the start of the street, a short walk from Bond Park.
Gary Novotny opened it in 1996 to give Colorado a Husker-only shop, and it has drawn former players up the mountain for signings over the years: Tommie Frazier, Ahman Green and Eric Crouch, plus coaches such as Tom Osborne. An email club announces the next signing, sales and new stock, and there's an online shop as well.
The store moved into this spot not long ago. The owners are friendly, and the clothing selection runs deeper than a single-team shop would suggest. In a town full of Colorado T-shirts, it's a quick stop for anyone wearing red, and for the Front Range fans who never switched sides.
