The gift shop is one piece of a bigger stop. Rocky Mountain Gateway sits about a tenth of a mile from the Fall River entrance, next to the Trailhead Restaurant and the Fall River Visitor Center, and it was the first joint venture between a private company and the National Park Service. Inside are souvenirs, jewelry, shirts, stickers and stuffed animals, with a grocery corner for ice cream, snacks and camping gear.
A coffee shop is attached, and the staff are easy to ask. It is a quick in and out, which is the point: grab whatever got left behind, a sticker for the cooler, and keep going toward the gate.
