Mountain homes break in mountain ways, and three hardware stores carry most of the load in the valley. Two are full hardware counters, Ace Hardware of Estes Park and Park Supply, and the third, Estes Park Lumber Company, is a lumberyard for builders and do-it-yourselfers. All three are based in the valley.
If you own a cabin up here, the hardware store counter is your new best friend. Ask what they'd use at this altitude and buy that. The advice is free and it's usually right.
