Engagement rings and wedding bands are the reason most people find this studio on West Elkhorn, next to Penelope's and Park Tavern. Village Goldsmith has made fine jewelry here since the 1970s, working in lost wax casting and fabrication, with designs often drawn from the mountains around town. Karen Jirsa and Ron Monroe carry the work on, with more than 50 years at the studio between them.
Custom rings are a specialty, and the pricing comes across as fair for handmade work. The staff are kind, and repairs are handled too. Worth a look even when only window-shopping, since the cases hold pieces that do not repeat what the souvenir shops along Elkhorn are selling.
