About

Three miles east of town on US-34, a couple of miles past Lake Estes, Elk Crossing Cabins is a set of camping cabins where the river is the main event. The views of the water come up more than anything else, followed by private patios, comfortable beds and the chance to walk down and fish.

It's peaceful, mostly. The cabins sit along the highway, so traffic noise is part of the deal, and light sleepers should know that going in. The wifi works, the cabins are kept clean, and the drive back into downtown is short. Lake Estes Marina is just under two miles back toward town for anyone who wants flat water too.
