Golf carts are how families get around this campground, and renting one is half the fun for the kids. Out on US 36 more than five miles from downtown, in national forest, Jellystone has RV sites with full hookups, tent sites, clean, simple cabins and glamping.
The grounds are built for children: a heated pool, a jump pad, mini golf, laser tag, fire truck rides, playgrounds, an arcade and a camp store. Themed weekends run all through the full season, which goes from May into early October. There's Wi-Fi and a dog park, and elk drift through the sites.
Spring and late fall are dry camping only, with hookups at a handful of RV sites and a water fill station but no water at the sites. Keep food locked up. Colorado now tickets anyone who leaves bear attractants out. Birthday party packages can bring the bear himself to the party.
