About
Elk walk through camp here, and bears are around often enough that the bear boxes earn their keep. Moraine Park is a National Park Service campground inside Rocky Mountain National Park, under a mile from the Beaver Meadows entrance, with tent pads, toilets, running water, an amphitheater and the Park shuttle. The rangers are friendly and easy to ask.
There are no showers. Summer sites have to be reserved ahead on Recreation.gov, with some released on short notice, and in fall the campground switches over to winter camping with electric and non-electric sites. Pets are allowed, and RVs can find electric hookups. Deer turn up as well. Fees are paid by card only.
