Built in 1948 and fully renovated in 2023, this motor lodge on South St. Vrain went back to its original name after carrying several others over the years. It sits a little over a mile from downtown, near the fairgrounds, and the Park entrance is roughly a 15-minute drive. The beds are what people talk about first, then the hot tub, the fireplaces and rooms that feel properly updated rather than patched.

There is no front desk. Each room has a key code, check-in details arrive by text and email, and the family that runs it answers by phone or text and responds fast. Families should ask about the family suite. Lake Estes is under a mile away, and the occasional wildlife sighting comes with the setting.
