A mile west of downtown on Fall River Road, Streamside spreads twenty-one cabins and suites through pine and aspen along the river, next to Estes Park Retreat. Elk and mule deer wander the property, and rainbow trout can be fished from right outside the cabins.
The hot tubs get the most attention: the shared one, and the private ones that come with the two-bedroom cabins and some river units. Gas fireplaces, full kitchens, gas grills and private decks are in the cabins, while studios and a motel room cover the budget end. Clean cabins and comfortable beds are what people note after the tubs.
It's open year-round, which makes fall worth a look, with yellow aspens and the elk rut. There's a lawn and horseshoe pit for kids, books and board games to borrow, and Old Man Mountain nearby for a hike with a view over the valley. Groups can book several cabins together.
