About
Downtown is a walk along a paved riverside path from the Maxwell Inn, and that is most of the argument for staying on this stretch of West Elkhorn. Rocky Mountain National Park is about five minutes the other way, by a bypass entrance that skips the downtown traffic. It is the kind of location that lets the car sit all evening.
Rooms are quiet, beds are comfortable, and some are big enough to spread out. There is a hot tub, a fire pit that gets plenty of use, and the river in view. Some rooms have a fireplace for cold nights. Elk show up on the grounds now and then.
House rules are firm: no pets, and no smoking of any kind anywhere on the property, decks included. Rates assume two guests in single-bed rooms and four in double-bed rooms, with a nightly fee for extras. Anyone traveling with a dog will need to look elsewhere.
