Bunk beds, a buffet line and a basketball court. Deer Ridge Lodge is group lodging, not a romantic getaway. It sits off Longhouse Way about three and a half miles from downtown, next to Rainbow Lodge YMCA, with the Beaver Meadows entrance a couple of miles off. Showers and air conditioning are the comforts that come up, for better and worse, and the staff are helpful. The real draw is the mountains around it, not the rooms.
