Ravencrest Chalet

About

A one-year Bible school is the core of what happens out on Pole Hill Road, about three and a half miles from downtown. Ravencrest belongs to Torchbearers International, and the teaching rests on a single idea, that Christ lives in the believer. Summer camps, youth weeks and retreats fill the rest of the calendar, and the ministry also produces a video series, Walk in the Light.

The staff are what people remember most, along with the food and a fair amount of rock climbing worked into the summers. It is explicitly a Christian ministry, with study, shared community life and service as the program rather than a general mountain getaway. There are ways to volunteer or donate without enrolling.
