A broken laptop is a bigger problem in the mountains, where a trip to the Front Range for repairs can swallow a whole day on the road. Three computer and IT shops serve the valley, and all three are based right here, which keeps most fixes local.
For a software problem, try the remote option before you drive anywhere. For a cracked screen or dead circuit board, make an appointment and bring the device. And back up your files before anyone touches the machine.
Downtown
When a laptop dies or a phone screen cracks mid-trip, Last Chance Electronics is the repair bench on West Elkhorn, a few doors from the Big Horn Restaurant. It is service only: soldering and circuit board work, charger and connector repairs, phone and tablet screens, LCD monitors, and older audio gear like CD players and receivers.
Around the valley
When a laptop stops cooperating or a printer will not talk to the Wi-Fi, Gene is the person who answers at Compute-IT. He has been solving computer problems for more than 40 years, including stints supporting large IT companies, and opened this Estes Park business in 2023.
When a laptop quits in Drake or a new tablet needs setting up in Allenspark, this small Estes Valley outfit covers it, along with Estes Park itself. The work is computer repair, troubleshooting, device setup and tutoring, that last one useful for anyone who owns more technology than anyone has shown them how to use.

They split the work usefully. Last Chance Electronics is an appointment-only bench for soldering, screen replacements, circuit boards and audio gear like stereo receivers. Compute-IT LLC handles computer repair and IT support for homes and small businesses, on site or by remote session. Estes Valley Computer Services covers repair, device setup and tutoring. All three are small operations, so ask who will actually do the work.
Service area matters outside town. Estes Valley Computer Services lists Estes Park, Allenspark, Drake and neighboring mountain communities, which covers mountain addresses where a shop visit is a long drive. If the problem is software, a remote session can save a trip, which Compute-IT lists. Two of the three show weekend availability.
Call first for all of them. Last Chance Electronics works by appointment, and a small shop can be booked up. Ask what the shop charges to diagnose a problem before it begins, and whether data on your device is backed up. Winter weather can slow everyone down, so do not plan around a same-day fix. If the device holds anything you cannot replace, ask what happens to your files during a repair.
Compute-IT LLC and Estes Valley Computer Services both handle computer repair, and Last Chance Electronics does bench work on screens, circuit boards and other electronics. Call ahead for availability and to ask about costs.
Yes. Compute-IT LLC lists remote sessions as well as on-site visits, which can save a trip when the problem is software. Ask what they can fix remotely and what needs to be brought in.
Estes Valley Computer Services lists a service area of Estes Park, Allenspark, Drake and neighboring mountain communities. For other addresses, call and ask whether they travel and how that affects scheduling.
Last Chance Electronics lists screen replacements for phones and tablets, along with LCD monitor and TV repairs. It is open by appointment only, so call before you bring the device in.
