Safeway Fuel Station
Ethanol-free gas is the quiet selling point at the Safeway pumps on Big Thompson Avenue, a short way from the Visitor Center. Anyone running a generator or a chainsaw knows why.
Stops for gas and charging cluster close to downtown in Estes Park, and all eighteen listings are based in the valley. For anyone arriving with a low tank or a low battery after the climb up, or setting out on the drive back down, this is the list that matters.
I fill up before I head up the canyon and again when I get home. Charging is easy to find near downtown, but a plug is not a promise, so have a second option in mind before you are down to the last few miles.
Downtown
Ethanol-free gas is the quiet selling point at the Safeway pumps on Big Thompson Avenue, a short way from the Visitor Center. Anyone running a generator or a chainsaw knows why.
A block from the Stanley Hotel on East Wonderview Avenue, this Supercharger keeps Teslas topped up around the clock. Charging is fast, the hotel is a short walk away, and there is coffee nearby while the car fills.

A couple of blocks from the Visitor Center on Big Thompson Avenue, Loaf 'N Jug is where plenty of RVs and trucks fuel up on the way into town. The pumps get mentioned more than anything else, along with propane refills and friendly counter staff.

At 335 West Elkhorn, a tenth of a mile from the main downtown intersection, a ChargePoint station takes cars around the clock. Free charging is the thing people note about it, though that can change, so check the rate on the unit before plugging in.

Rolling into town on Big Thompson Avenue with a low battery, the easy stop is the ChargePoint station at number 500, next to Waffel Mountain and a tenth of a mile from the Visitor Center. It works around the clock, and free charging is what people point out, though rates can change.

Barely a tenth of a mile from the Visitor Center on North St. Vrain, this ChargePoint station is one of the easier places to plug in on the way into town.
Destination chargers are the slow kind, meant for topping up while you eat, and this one is placed for exactly that: in Prospect Village next to Sweet Basilico Cafe, under half a mile from downtown. Hours and access rules are not on record, so check the Tesla app first.
Around the valley

Out Moraine Avenue toward Beaver Meadows, this Sinclair covers the practical stuff: gas, diesel and biodiesel, a car wash, propane exchange, air, water and an ATM. It opens early enough for a sunrise start into the Park.

The car wash is why most people pull into this Shell on South St. Vrain, out by the fairgrounds.

Diesel, a propane tank exchange and an ATM put this Sinclair a notch above a plain fuel stop. It sits on Woodstock Drive, about a mile from downtown near the fairgrounds, a few doors from Quick Go and Estes Mini Mart, so the corner works as a small cluster of places to fill up.

For a late arrival from the Front Range on an empty tank, the Conoco on Marys Lake Road is a station that never closes. It sells gas and diesel, swaps propane tanks and has EV chargers right next door, about a mile and a half from downtown.
Before a sunrise start in the Park, this is one of the stations in town that is already open. Quick Go on Woodstock Drive, near the fairgrounds and next to Estes Mini Mart, sells gas and diesel and does propane tank exchange, with a convenience store attached.
Doughnuts come up more often than fuel at this Moraine Avenue gas station, which makes sense: Donut Haus is right next door. Tiny Town Eagle Stop sits about a mile and a quarter out of downtown on the road toward the Beaver Meadows entrance, beside Tiny Town Storage and Fresh Burger Stop.

Electric cars heading up Moraine Avenue toward Beaver Meadows can top up here, about a mile and a half from downtown, in the same cluster as The Mad Moose, The Country Market of Estes Park and the Estes Park Laundracenter. EV Connect runs the network.

On Big Thompson Avenue, the road in from the canyon, this TurnOnGreen charger sits next to the Best Western Plus Silver Saddle Inn, a short drive from the Lake Estes Marina. It is listed as open around the clock.
Out on Highway 66, about two miles from downtown, this Tesla destination charger sits among the lodges and cottages on the road toward the YMCA. Destination chargers are built for a slow top-up while the car is parked a while, so it works better for a meal or an overnight than a quick stop.

Charging before a day in the Park is easy to arrange on Moraine Avenue. This EV Connect station is a mile and a half up from downtown by the Conoco, with The Mad Moose and Wayfinder Restaurant next door, so lunch can cover the wait.
