About

Cleave Street sits just off West Elkhorn, and the Lumpy Ridge Brewing Co. Publick House is on it, a few steps from the Danish Cone Factory. The brewery's own pitch is that this is the funky, weird side of downtown, not the taffy-and-T-shirt side, and the room backs it up.

The beer is Lumpy Ridge's own, from a local brewery, and the pale ale is the one that gets named. A flight is the easy way in, and the beertenders are good company while you work through it. There's a full bar too. The patio is the draw on a nice afternoon, and dogs are welcome out there.

Food comes from rotating food trucks, or bring your own snacks, and carryout is cans only. The brewery's original spot is a converted old gas station, and it also books private events, including the wedding-minded Brews Before I Dos. Check the food truck calendar before planning dinner around it.
