Tavern at The Legion

The bar inside American Legion Post 119 is open to the public, which plenty of people in town still do not realize. Tavern at The Legion sits on North St. Vrain, a short walk from El Mex-Kal, and has been newly remodeled. The Legion's veterans services and community programs run out of the same building.

The menu is bar comfort food. Wings and fries, by the basket or loaded, get the most attention, alongside nachos, sliders, buffalo cauliflower and hummus with pita. Craft beer and cocktails come from a full bar, the bartenders are friendly, and prices stay low. Breakfast is on the menu as well.

Outside, a landscaped yard has tables under umbrellas, and dogs are welcome there. There is live music and a run of weekly specials, the Great Hall books for groups year-round, and the Legion caters events. Reservations are taken, and takeout works for a night in.
