Elk stew is the dish that keeps this place on people's lists, and the bone-in elk chop, lobster mac and cheese and bison ravioli aren't far behind. The room on East Elkhorn, steps from Bond Park, reads more modern than mountain lodge, and everything from the cocktails to the elk birria tacos is made from scratch. Kind staff come up nearly as often as the stew. It takes reservations, which helps on a July weekend, and the kitchen stays open a little later than most downtown.
