Margaritas are the first thing most tables order here, and the cucumber margarita has a following of its own. Head chef Miguel Santana's kitchen makes its tortillas fresh and grinds salsas in a molcajete, and the plates people keep coming back for are the chimichangas, street tacos, pozole and chicken tortilla soup. Breakfast runs all day: chilaquiles, migas, huevos con chorizo, tamales and eggs.

It sits on South St. Vrain, under a mile from downtown and next to Famous Eastside Food Store, close enough to the fairgrounds to walk over. That keeps it out of the Elkhorn crowds. The patio is the seat to ask for when the weather holds, and service moves quickly. Full bar, kids' menu and takeout.
