Come summer, a packed lunch tastes better here than almost anywhere near town. The picnic area sits a little under four miles inside the Fall River entrance, along a stream with river views, fire pits and pit toilets, and it's wheelchair accessible. The stream runs right alongside.
Moose show up often enough to keep an eye out, and other wildlife passes through as well. It feels secluded for a spot this easy to reach, and hiking starts close by for anyone who wants to walk lunch off. The Park requires a timed entry reservation during the busy months, so book that before loading the cooler. A picnic here easily turns into a half day.
