Without a car, the Park gets a lot farther away. Explore Estes is a husband-and-wife business that fills the gap with private tours of Rocky Mountain National Park and rides around the valley. It is licensed, insured and regulated by the State of Colorado.

Tours change with the season, and the fall elk rut tour is the one to book when the bugling starts. There is also a shorter hour tour. The guides know the Park well and do not hurry anyone along, and the cars are clean and on time. Questions about the Park's timed entry get handled as part of trip planning.

The ride side is just as useful: trailhead drop-offs, trips around town and out to surrounding areas, party and wedding transportation, and a dispensary shuttle. The office is on Highway 7 near the Visitor Center, and rides run late on weekend nights, which helps after dinner downtown.
