About

In winter, Tundra Tours puts people on snowshoes. The flagship trip follows Trail Ridge Road at around 10,000 feet. The family version keeps kids hunting for animal tracks, with hot chocolate as the incentive, and a night hike ends with s'mores and cocoa for ages 10 and up. Winter Summit Fever is the harder option, for people who want a real push.

The rest of the year the line-up runs to a dozen hikes, half-day to full-day, plus night hikes, and each one comes with a small extra such as a field journal or s'mores. No timed-entry reservation is needed to join a tour.

Patient, knowledgeable guides and a sharp eye on safety are what people talk about afterward, along with hikes that were properly challenging when the group wanted that. Trips run by booking, so call ahead rather than turning up.
