Halfway along East Elkhorn, a few doors from Mary Jane's and Rocket Fizz, Aspen and Evergreen Gallery fills its walls and shelves with work from more than 75 Colorado artists. Pottery is the strongest part of the room, with paintings, prints, jewelry, photography and woodwork around it.
The owner and staff are friendly and know the artists, which helps when choosing between two pieces. As a souvenir stop it beats most of Elkhorn, since everything here was made in the state. Active military get a discount, and it's open every day of the week, winter included. The prints are worth a look if an original runs past the budget, and they pack flat for the trip home.
