Out on West Riverside Drive, next to Estes Angler, this small studio hands you professional materials and teaches a real technique in one sitting. Wood burning is the class that comes up most, followed by tie dye and hydro dipping, with alcohol inks, marbling and batik on the schedule too. The instructors get as much credit as the projects.
More than a dozen kits can be made at the tables or carried home: a wildlife collage, felted hummingbird ornaments, a snow globe, metal embossing, a woven fabric hiking bag. That helps on a rainy afternoon, or when the trip ends before the project does. It's open Sundays, which not every studio in town can say, and the room is welcoming to everyone who walks in.
