About

Come in the morning and there's a fair chance the Model K Kiss wrapping machine is running, a 77-year-old piece of equipment that still wraps the taffy made on site. This is the only taffy actually made in Estes Park, on West Elkhorn a block from Bond Park.

Salted caramel is the flavor that gets named most, with banana and cinnamon behind it. Free samples mean nobody has to guess, and the taffy is fresh enough that people notice. The staff behind the counter are friendly about it, and on most days some of the family is working there, cooking and selling.

The Slack family ran the shop for 79 years before handing it to the Igel family, and the recipe, kept in a safe deposit box, came along unchanged. Boxes ship from the web store, and a taffy-of-the-month club keeps it coming after you get home. Open every day, until 8 on Fridays and Saturdays.
