About

Three miles down the Big Thompson Canyon from town, in Drake, Loveland Heights runs 19 cottages across 22 acres of pine and aspen on the banks of the river. The river is the point. Many of the cabins have decks that hang right out over the water, and the Old Log Cabin, built in 1897, is the oldest cabin on the upper Big Thompson. Rustic decor, comfortable beds, the sound of the river at night.

Every cottage, one to three bedrooms, has a full kitchen, so groceries are about all there is to pack. Booking direct means room rate plus sales tax and nothing else. Elk and deer graze the lawn, and the property has its own river walk for an evening stroll. Lake Estes and town are a short drive back up the canyon.
