On North St. Vrain, a little more than half a mile from the Lake Estes Marina, Estes Lake Lodge rents rustic rooms and cabins, some with full kitchens and fireplaces in the room. Nothing about it is polished, and nobody seems to mind much, because the views of the mountains and the lake are what people talk about.
Hummingbirds are a regular sight in summer, wildlife comes through the property, and the fireplaces earn their keep on cold nights. A kitchen means breakfast before a Park day and a cheaper dinner after it. Lake Estes and the marina are close by for a morning on the water, and downtown is under two miles off.
