About

About half a mile from the Fall River entrance, McGregor Mountain Lodge is as close to the Park as a cabin in Estes gets, and the property borders it. It sits a little over three miles up Fall River Road from downtown, so town is a drive and the trails are not.

Cottages with one or two bedrooms make up most of it, alongside chalet and lodge suites and a couple of knotty-pine rooms. Fireplaces are the detail people remember, along with how clean the cabins are kept, and there are barbecues, a hot tub and a playground on the grounds. Mountain views come with most of it.

Wildlife is a constant, there are hummingbird feeders, and fresh cookies have a way of showing up. Dog owners speak well of it, and a pet policy is posted to read first. The lodge's webcams show the setting before booking, and the barbecues make dinner outside an easy call.
