Adults only, and every cabin has its own hot tub in the room. That's the whole pitch at this cabin resort out on Riverside Drive, about a mile and a half from downtown, and it works: the in-room tubs are what guests talk about afterward. The beds are comfortable and the cabins are kept clean.
Each cabin is individually themed, with a gas fireplace, a king bed, a kitchenette and air conditioning. Outside there are grills and a wood fire pit in season. The owners are friendly, and Peak Hospitality Vacations, right next door, handles management. High-speed internet, smart TVs with live TV and a DVD selection cover the nights in.
Winter suits it. Hiking sticks, snowshoes and YakTrax are on loan while supplies last, which helps on icy trailheads, and the fireplace earns its keep after a cold day. A few cabins take pets, and celebration add-ons are offered for anniversaries and birthdays.
