About two miles up Fall River Road, Amberwood's log cabins sit on 11 wooded acres at the foot of Castle Mountain, a few minutes from both downtown and the Fall River entrance. It's quiet, which is the point, and both town and the Park are close enough for an early start and an easy return.
Fireplaces and porches are what people talk about, along with the hot tubs in a handful of cabins and the free firewood. Every cabin has a kitchen, units range from one-bedroom places to three-bedroom family cabins, and the Hilltop House at the top of the property sleeps 13 with its own hot tub. Elk come through. The lobby has a coffee station and a pay laundry.
